Braidhurst High School made the long journey down to Peebles to take on their school team in the last 32 of the Scottish Cup. After an even start to the match, Liam Scott produced a fantastic piece of skill to eventually set up Dylan Morrow who broke the deadlock with a close range finish. Braidhurst then doubled their advantage soon after, Dylan the scorer once again only this time with a confident finish when 1 v 1 with the goalkeeper. Two further goals saw Braidhurst go into half time 4-0 up, coming via a sublime strike from Alistair Small and a rebounded effort from Max McGuigan. A sloppy start to the second half allowed Peebles to come back into the tie with two quick goals. However, Braidhurst were not to be denied and after great play from Mason Kelman sent Alistair through on goal, an emphatic finish ensured they would progress 5-2 winners from the tie. Mr O’Toole and Mr Duncan were delighted with the result. The Under 14s now face yet another away game, this time against the winners of Cathkin HS vs Holyrood Secondary, hoping to progress one stage further than last year.
