Health and Wellbeing

The curricular area of Health and Well Being allows our children to have the experience of learning about their mental, emotional, social and physical well-being, planning for choices, being fit and healthy, developing relationships and knowing how to keep themselves safe.

In Nursery, the children have lots of opportunities to develop their Health and Well Being skills.  The children are able to play outdoors as well as indoors, they learn about friendships and the importance of secure relationships by exploring children’s rights. We go to the canteen for lunch and we encourage the children to eat healthy food and drinks. Our children also take part in the tooth brushing programme where they learn the importance of cleaning their teeth.

They are given support to keep themselves safe by offering learning opportunities that allow them to be aware of and take risks. Children learn to be responsible for their own learning and learn how to take care of themselves, developing their self-help skills.
