When your child starts nursery we are aware that it can be a worrying and anxious time for parents and for our children. Here at Newark we have developed a settling in process which will support our children and families in making that transition from home to nursery as seamless as possible. Children and parents are invited to an enrolment day where you can both have a look round our playroom, we ask you to share some information with us by completing an “All About Me “Booklet , which gives us an insight to your child’s likes and dislikes.

On their first day new children will arrive slightly later than the other children and spend around 1 hour in the playroom, we ask parents to stay with us on the first day. (At the present time of Covid Regulations parents are not allowed in the building, we hope this temporary situation is over soon.)

It will depend on each child individually how long the settling process takes, however please be assured that the staff will work in partnership with our parents to ensure the health and wellbeing of all our children.
