Outdoor Learning

“All children and young people should enjoy high quality play opportunities, particularly outdoor free play in stimulating spaces with access to nature, on a daily basis in school, nursery and early learning and childcare.”

Play Strategy for Scotland: Our Action Plan (2013) Scottish Government(15) (quoted from My World Outdoors)

Outdoor play is a huge part of Hillend Life.  All Children show enjoyment when engaging in outdoor play and have the right to choose freely to do so.

We use a variety of local and national guidelines to support and develop outdoor play further. Below are some of theses:

  • My World Outdoors
  • Forest Schools
  • Froebelian Approaches
  • Inverclyde: Froebelian Network
  • Space to Grow
  • Realising The Ambition:Being Me
  • Out to Play
