Alternative Fairytales

Today we began our Alternative Fairytale planning. This is actually a trickier job than it looks. To be successful, we have to capture the key features of the original fairytale, whilst adding a new twist which will grab the reader’s attention.

We watched, listened to and read some great alternatives. Many were based around ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, using the wolf’s perspective.

Roald Dahl does this excellently, using his poem below, in which there’s an interesting twist at the end:

The film ‘Hoodwinked’ also cleverly adds a twist – making the wolf in fact a ‘goodie’. We watched clip from this also:
