More success for Lochardil FC!

To of our P2/3 teams played in the Gaelic School tournament last Saturday, and the A team won. Great team work was displayed and the sportsmanship of these young boys was second to none.

Squad members for the A team were: Lachlan F, Scott M, Matthew B, Alistair N, Calum M, Ross M, Iain S and Sam T.

On Saturday 31st of May our P4/5A team played in the Kirkhill and Kiltarlity tournament at Milburn Academy. The squad reached the final and were runners up on this occasion, losing out on penalties in the end.

Squad members were: Max M, Charlie E, Robbie T, Jamie M, Matthew M, Kieran M, Will T and Ewan M.

The same team, along with Max Mc, were entered into the IDYFA Summer Gala on Saturday the 7th of June, they reached the quarter finals but were beat yet again on penalties!

Also at the same tournament the P3/4/5B team also played – showing great team spirit.

Squad members were: Stephen K, Fraser M, Harris, Andrew S, Ava H, Molly (P5), Alistair N, Calum M, Iain S, Jonah I, Liam R and Finlay J.

Two teams in this age group were also entered. Our A team reached the semi-finals, and yes – you’ve probably guessed it already – we lost on penalties to Holm School!

Squad members were: Ryan M, Ryan F, Orrin B, Gregor M, Calum G, Scott M, Grant N, Sean M and Caillean E.

The B team played superbly – but unfortunately didn’t qualify. The B team squad members were: Duncan B, Aaron P, Anna M, Jamie G, Christopher T, Griffin F, Fraser C, Finlay M, James N and Aaron Houston.

Well Done to everyone involved!

P2/3s – Have a Great Time at Tournament

21 of the P2/3 football club had a great time at the Cairn Housing 2/3s tournament on Saturday 29th March. All the kids had a great time and all got a chance to show their skills for the school. The blue team made it to the semi-final – only to be beaten on penalties by the eventual winners, Cradlehall. All 21 children enjoyed the event and were a credit to the school. Credit to Peter Thompson and his team of coaches –  Malcolm Macleod, Craig Black, Ian Thompson and Ross Nixon – for supervising the teams.

2012/2013 – Football Club Round-up!

Another season over for Lochardil FC and another cracking one it has been!

As usual we have had a brilliant turn out over the year with well over 60 children enjoying training and matches.

Thanks to all the coaches and helpers who have made this possible – Iain, Jim, Tim, Rob, Laura M, Laura E, Graeme, Maggie, Stuart, Corrin, Ross and Malcolm – without the support of these guys there would be no football at Lochardil!

Thanks also to the School for all the support and for the use of the pitch and the shed – fingers crossed we may have some new facilities to look forward to quite soon.

Finally thanks to the kids who have all been great and have all come on really well both in football ability and confidence.

Again we have had some great achievements – for example –  the P2/3s were runners up in the Duncan Forbes tournament, the P4s were also runners up in the same tournament but at the older age group, the P5 team had a fantastic victory over our old rivals Crown and a joint P4/5 team won the prestigious Hamish Black Trophy.

At the older age group the P6/7 B had a great win over Glenurquhart and finished the season with a remarkable 9-9 draw including a last minute headed equaliser by Kenny Cameron to secure the draw.  Also special thanks to Laura McIllhatton who stepped in at the last minute to do all the admin for this team which meant we could get more kids playing more football – which is what it is all about – Thanks.

Last but not least – the A team – another phenomenal season from these guys culminating in reaching the national finals of the Scottish Primary School cup in Glasgow.

However despite these great achievements the most important thing was to get as many kids playing as much football as possible and enjoying themselves – that is always our number one priority and will continue to be so in the years to come.

So well done to all – and see you next season!

More Success for Lochardil Football Club

Yesterday at Toryglen Indoor Football Stadium in Glasgow, Lochrdil P6/7’s managed to finish 4th best primary school in Scotland.

Overall, over 300 schools entered this competition, and only 8 made it to the finals in Glasgow yesterday.

On the day the boys again were fantastic and came within goal difference of making the Grand Final itself!

This really is an exceptional performance so well done again to all the boys and to the coaches (who all had to reorganise schedules at the last moment to take the kids down the road).

Still in congratulations mode – well done to the P4/5 Team who won the Hamish Black Trophy at the IRA on Saturday – the 2nd time in 3 years that Lochardil have won this – the oldest primary school trophy in Inverness.  A great team performance and an exciting final in which we beat Crown with an extra time ‘Golden Goal’.

Well done all concerned!

SSFA Primary School Cup

Very well done to the Lochardil P6/7 A team who qualified for the National Finals of the SSFA Primary Schools Cup yesterday in Dundee.

Great performances all round yesterday in very windy conditions overcoming teams from Dundee, Aberdeen, Falkirk, Avoch and Scone. Well done to the players Ryan, Danni, Charlie, Leon, Bradi, Ewan, Scott and Cameron; and to the coaches Tim and Iain – a fantastic achievement.

The finals will be played in Glasgow on Monday 22nd April so good luck to them all.

March Update

Busy times for the football club at the moment.

The P7s have recently qualified from all schools in the Highlands and will be playing in the next stages of the Scottish Schools FA cup in Dundee on the 19th of March.

Unfortunately the P6s, despite a good effort, didn’t manage to repeat the success and bowed out at the Highland qualifying section at Dingwall High School last Saturday.

The P4/5s were playing in a mini tournament on Saturday and were very unlucky to miss out on the final by only 1 goal; however they went on to win 3rd place comfortably – 5-1 against Merkinch.

This Saturday coming, we have the IDYFA Winter Gala at Inverness High School in which we have 4 teams from Lochardil participating – so good luck to all those involved.

Any parents who would like to come along and support the kids are more than welcome.

As a result there will be no training this weekend – back at Bught a week on Saturday the 23rd.

Can we also ask all parents to double check that you don’t have any school strips tucked away in drawers etc. If so please hand in to any of the coaches.

Update: 31.10.12

Training continues at the Bught Park astro pitch this Saturday 9:00 till 10:00 as normal – last week went well and hopefully everyone enjoyed it.However, as the weather is going to start getting colder now for the kids, please make sure they are well wrapped up, leggings, under armour, hats and gloves if needs be. I would also recommend tracky bottoms etc as the kind of astro on this pitch can cause havoc with bare knees!!

One item of lost property left last Saturday – Blue, Next, hooded, zip fleecy top (age 9) with “Authentic” written on the front. I’ll bring it along on Saturday. Also a Man United tracksuit top was left at the Winter League near the pitch where Lochardil were playing – don’t know if it’s one of ours but if so let me know.

Well done to the P6/7 team for a brilliant 8-0 win on Sat and a very unlucky 1-2 loss.

  • P7 9:00 – 10:00

  • P6 10:00 – 11:00

  • P3/4/5 from 11:00 – 12:00.
