Summary of Learning

Literacy

For writing this term we will be looking at persuasive writing, reading and writing pamphlets, posters and a variety of other media. This will eventually link in with our schoolwide Topic – Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.

We are continuing to read 3 times a week within our groups looking at common words and comprehension skills. We will continue to work on spelling patterns in class this term.

Our class novel is ‘The Worst Witch’

We are continuing to learn each lower case letter and beginning cursive writing.

Numeracy & Maths

In numeracy we will continue to look at place value and reinforce problems using the operations we have learned throughout the year. We will also begin to look at patterns and relationships.

For mathematics this term we will explore Measurement, Data Handling, and Angle, Symmetry and Transformation which we will link to our Topic (and our PE learning of Athletics.

PE Days

Our P.E days are a Thursday (in the gym hall) and Friday (on the outdoor pitch). We also have P.E.E.K every second Wednesday afternoon which is active play in the playground.

Please dress your child for P.E on these days (and for the weather) and ensure they are not wearing any jewellery.
