Summary of Learning
Term 3 is about demonstrating our ability to work independently and showing confidence in the routines we’ve built. We will continue to maintain our positive classroom climate as well as creating opportunities for peer and group work to foster teamwork and communication as well as encouraging critical thinking and creativity.
Literacy
Our Novel will be Titanic Detective Agency by Lindsay Littleson. We will be focussing on fact or opinion, skimming and scanning strategies and will be continuing with studying different types of questions. In writing, the focus will be persuasive writing.
Numeracy and Maths
Focus will be time, decimals and fractions, angles and symmetry as well as 4 operations with an emphasis on division.
Topic
We will be learning about The Titanic as part of People, Past Events and Societies (Social Studies). We will also be looking to explore floating and sinking as part of Science.
Expressive Arts
We will be working with Eco Drama for 5 weeks on a Tuesday. This is a creative learning programme to explore drama and story telling in an outdoor environment. Check out www.ecodrama.co.uk
