Primary 6A with Miss Morrison
Summary of Learning
Term 2 is about continuing with our class routines, maintaining our positive classroom climate and encouraging independent learning. Also creating opportunities for peer and group work to foster teamwork and communication as well as encouraging critical thinking and creativity.
Literacy
Our Novel will be The Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom by Louis Sacher. We will be focussing on note taking, skimming and scanning strategies and will be continuing with studying different types of questions.
In writing, the focus will be report writing which will tie in nicely with our note taking.
Numeracy
Focus will be money and decimals as well as 4 operations with an emphasis on learning our multiplication facts.
Topic
We will be learning about Natural Disasters as part of People and Place (Social Studies). We are also very fortunate to be working with Jeannie from The Screen Educator Programme- the pupils will be learning about film and given the opportunity to create their own.
Expressive Arts
We will be working with the Music Department in Govan High for 4 weeks. This will give our pupils the opportunity to work with music specialists.
PE
PE Days will be Tuesday and Wednesday.
