This week all our Primary 3-7 classes have been working on improving our during writing strategies. We have been using our planning sheets, class tools and success criteria to help us write some wonderful recount stories. Here are some great pictures of Primary 3 in action. Well done P3! Good Job!
Today Primary 3 and Primary 5 took part in paired reading. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to read a book of their choice to their partner. They listened carefully to each other and supported each other as they read their books.

Primary 3 have been taking part in lots of activities to help them with their spelling! Some of their favourite games are: Silent Spelling Clap Spelling Frog Spelling Spelling Tic Tac Toe. We’ve also been using our elkonin boards to help us split words up and we’ve been making silly poems to help us remember how to spell too!
P3 have been examining the work of Steven Brown. They loved his use of colour and that many of his painting are of animals. They loved the names he had given to his paintings and thought they were funny. They liked Francie and Josie McZoo and Lizzie McCoo! The children then went on to complete their own representations of his work…. Here are some of our budding artists!
We have been learning all about our bodies. We know about our skeleton, heart, lungs and teeth! We worked in groups to create life sized diagrams to showcase our learning.

Balornock Primary Rag Bag Appeal The ‘Rag Bag’ recycling scheme has been developed to provide regular fundraising for schools in Scotland. The scheme increases awareness about textile recycling and by increasing recycling rates we can help the environment by ensuring less material goes to landfill.
