Highlights of the Week!

It has been another busy week in Balornock. The boys and girls in Primary 1a have been learning lots of new and exciting things! Bookbug Bags

The boys and girls in Primary 1a and 1b took home their Bookbug bags this week. We are all so excited to have our own copies of the three books that we read in class – ‘Gorilla Loves Vanilla’, ‘The Fourth Bonniest Baby in Dundee’ and ‘Little Owl’s Egg’. We can’t wait to share them with our families and friends!

Eco Committee Meeting!

The Eco Heroes had a great meeting this afternoon to discuss the on-going plans for the school! There were lots of great ideas from the team including having ‘Litter Ninjas’ in the upper school playground to ensure that no litter is left after play time and lunch time. Using ICT

What fun we had today in the ICT suite. The boys were all on task logging on, searching on GOOGLE and completing literacy games. They worked well in partners and reached new levels.  Very proud of our Young Literacy Team today ……. Now to practise at home!! Mrs Woolfries

Writing

All the P3-7 classes have been working very hard on their After Writing Strategies this week. We have been looking at self-assessment, peer assessment and celebrating our work with an audience.  Primary 6 did a fantastic job with peer assessing. They used their success criteria to say what went well in their partner’s Recount Writing. A big well done to all of them.

This week all our Primary 3-7 classes have been working on improving our during writing strategies. We have been using our planning sheets, class tools and success criteria to help us write some wonderful recount stories.     Here are some great pictures of Primary 3 in action. This week Primaries 3-7 have been working hard to develop their before writing strategies. We have been exploring recount stories. First we looked at good examples of recount stories and worked with our writing partners to  highlight the features which made the texts good examples.
