Fife’s Creative Learning Network Seeks School Representatives

Fife’s Creative Learning Network (CLN) is a newly established group bringing together community representatives and key local and national cultural partners with education representatives for the first time. The network would like to enroll a representative from every school in Fife to be part of the network.

The Creative Learning Network will:
* Champion creative and cultural learning in formal and informal educational environments
* Raise the profile of creative and cultural learning & teaching within the context of Curriculum For Excellence
* Develop new partnerships and collaborations across education, community and Cultural Organisations
* Provide new creative learning opportunities for children and young people
* Share experiences, resources and expertise amongst Fife’s CLN members

Partners already involved with the network include:
* The Byre Theatre
* ON at Fife
* Fife Contemporary Art and Craft
* Fife Council Libraries
* Adam Smith College
* Fife Council Museums
* Carnegie College
* Fife Council Education Directorate
* Fife Childcare & Early Years Services
* Fife Council Community Learning & Development

Each school representative would act as a point of contact for Fife’s CLN. This person should be willing to keep up to date with the creative and cultural learning opportunities in Fife which are being promoted through Fife’s CLN via its dedicated Glow group and/or direct electronic mailings.

Fife’s CLN Glow Group

Art4Peace Exhibition 2011 – Contemporary Arts Dunfermline

We at Contemporary Arts Dunfermline are creating a Peace Exhibition for November. It will run for one month, from Armistice Day through to the Christmas Season. It will be an awareness exhibition with information provided for by Unesco, Habitat Housing, Peace Train and various other organisations. We will also be putting on a display of children’s art …this part is very important as the art is from children in Israel and Palestine that are being taught the value of living together with no warring factions in the way. It will be a mixed bag but extremely interesting also! This is to be held at the CAD Gallery in the Kingsgate Dunfermline.
