This resource is a digital version of The Kist / A’Chiste anthology and contains prose, poetry and drama in various dialects of Scots, and in Gaelic. Texts in Gaelic have been translated. Those in Scots usually have a glossary. The anthology is primarily targeted at learners working at second and third levels.

Spend your Easter break making a musical in a week!
Celebrate “old and new” Scottish music by creating a piece of musical theatre for ages 8-16. Using music from Scottish Artists, devise a musical and celebrate current and well-known Scottish songs, performed to a live audience on the final day of the course.

18 February 2013,Funded by the Scottish Government, the Citizens Theatre and South Lanarkshire Culture and Leisure are re-mounting the hit musical stage version of Theresa Breslin’s award winning novel, Divided City, with a 40 strong cast of 3rd year pupils from across South Lanarkshire. To help teachers and pupils get inside the world of the book and the production there will be two Glow meets (one Primary and the other Secondary) with the author and the creative team behind the hit musical version of Divided City.
This is the Primary event (glow password required) and will include a special opportunity to ask author Theresa Breslin questions about Divided City and find out how the creative team from the new production in Hamilton took the book from page to stage

Exhibition and spotlight sessions to include:
Testimony is Education Scotland’s high quality resource to support learning and teaching in religious and moral education. This site illustrates how faith, belief and values can influence how a person acts and lives their life. It includes examples of religious and non-religious standpoints to show how people from around the world and in Scotland have been influenced by faith, belief and values.
New resources have now been added to the site including some BBC Class Clips that are relevant to the different sections. There are also additional video clips that will act as a stimulus for class discussion and debate. These can be used in conjunction with the text or adapted to suit the needs and context of your classroom.
Twig World, the creators of Twig on Glow, have been awarded a prestigious BETT Award in the Digital Collections and Resource Banks category. For the second year running, the Glasgow-based start up has won this top education award for outstanding digital content.
Judges praised Twig for a “well-designed and presented resource that can be used to support the curriculum as well as independent learning”. Twig is provided free to all Scottish local authority schools via Glow, at www.twigonglow.com.
The SLF team is pleased to announce that the Scottish Learning Festival 2013 will be taking place on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 September 2013. The theme for SLF 2013 is Raising the bar in Scotland – transforming lives through learning.
The conference secretariat is now open for abstracts for proposed participation. Abstracts of 200 words for proposed sessions on the above theme should be submitted by Friday 1 March 2013

Session will enable primary teachers to make the most of the education pack created to link the exhibition The Kingdom of If (currently touring in Fife’s mobile museum MAC) with cross-curricular art and environment themes. The education pack also provides a range of activities tied to Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes which will be introduced as part of the session. Artists involved in the exhibition and staff from organisers, Fife Contemporary Art & Craft will deliver the activties. There will be achance to try out simple hands-on activities in the pack and an additional activity devised by the artists which you can then use in the classroom
CPD sessions are free due to the support of Fife’s Creative Learning Network.
