Join experts at the National Museum of Scotland to explore some amazing real and replica Viking objects, which might help you to decide.

A Man Came to A Women Glow Meet 
6 March 1.45 pm – 2.30 pm

Join acclaimed Russian director Natalya Leonova for a sneak peek into the rehearsal room while she works on ‘A Man Came to a Woman’ with two Scottish based actors. This is a rare opportunity to watch a professional at work and see live the different rehearsal techniques Natalya uses to enable the actors to become equipped to perform the piece.

Divided City Event at Citizen’s Theatre – Primary Event

Funded by the Scottish Government, the Citizens Theatre and South Lanarkshire Culture and Leisure are re-mounting the hit musical stage version of Theresa Breslin’s award winning novel, Divided City, with a 40 strong cast of 3rd year pupils from across South Lanarkshire. To help teachers and pupils get inside the world of the book and the production there will be two Glow meets (one Primary and the other Secondary) with the author and the creative team behind the hit musical version of Divided City.

This is the Primary event (glow password required) and will include a special opportunity to ask author Theresa Breslin questions about Divided City and find out how the creative team from the new production in Hamilton took the book from page to stage

Divided City Event at Citizen’s Theatre – Secondary Event

Funded by the Scottish Government, the Citizens Theatre and South Lanarkshire Culture and Leisure are re-mounting the hit musical stage version of Theresa Breslin’s award winning novel, Divided City, with a 40 strong cast of 3rd year pupils from across South Lanarkshire. To help teachers and pupils get inside the world of the book and the production there will be two Glow meets (one Primary and the other Secondary) with the author and the creative team behind the hit musical version of Divided City.

This is the Secondary event (glow password required) which will feature a lively discussion asking whether young people today have experienced sectarianism or prejudice similar to those experienced by the characters in Divided City.

What does remembrance mean? – Wounded

This year Poppyscotland have teamed up with Glow TV to bring you a series of events about remembrance. This is the final event in this series.

From 20th – 23rd November 2012, Surgeons’ Hall Museum at The Royal College of Surgeons will host a unique theatrical and educational event. ‘Wounded’ is a new play, which has been written by members of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre for students from S3 upwards.

Wounded is a free educational event which has two aims: to bring to life elements of the Curriculum for Excellence, particularly in History, English, Drama and Citizenship; and to support outreach initiatives for students, enabling interaction with museum collections.

This is your chance to watch ‘Wounded’ from the comfort of your own classroom.

What does remembrance mean?

This year Poppyscotland has teamed up with Glow TV to bring you a series of events about remembrance. 

This is the first of this thought provoking series. During this Glow Meet you will get the chance to hear from and chat with St Brigid’s Primary school as they talk about their experience of entering and winning Moving Stories 2011 and how you can enter the competition this year! Other Glow TV events on Remembrance will take place on 8 November and 22 November

ASN – Support through Educationally Based Theatre

Engross Theatre is a registered charity that brings the principles of the Curriculum for Excellence to children with additional support needs, through educationally based theatre. Games Legacy: Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games – Mascot Glow Meet

Thursday 20 September (1.45 pm -2.15 pm)

Join us live from the Scottish Learning Festival on 20 September and be one of the first people in Scotland to welcome the Glasgow 2014 mascot which will have been launched that morning.

There will be an opportunity to meet the mascot, see the schools premiere of his animated short film and engage with his prominent friends in a question and answer session.
