Re-CREATE Kirkcaldy. Puppet-Making Sessions at The Arts Hub-by-the-Sea

Telling stories enhanced by the use of a characterful puppet can be fun and very effective.  Sylvia Troon from Gauldry, North Fife, storyteller and puppeteer is running three sessions at Kirkcaldy’s Arts Hub-by-the-Sea:  two for children, and one for teens and adults.  The aim is for participants to thoroughly enjoy making a puppet which they will find useful and effective at home, school or college , or on stage. All materials are provided.  The dates are as follows:-

Sat 12th Oct.  Children, aged 6 to 10.  3 to 5pm.

Sun 13th Oct.  Adults and Teens/Students. 3 to 6pm.

Wed 30th Oct.  Children, aged 5 to 10.  5 to 7pm.

Sylvia Troon is a professional storyteller, and also is an artist and illustrates her own short stories.  Originally an art teacher in Fife, she became a freelance puppeteer and workshop leader for at least 15 years, travelling throughout Scotland, and on occasion, Ireland.  She now is on the Scottish Storytelling Centre’s Directory of Storytellers, and Fife’s Toolkit of Creative Practitioners, and visits schools and many adult community-based groups, sharing her love of Scottish history and culture with an emphasis on Robert Burns, but also with a focus on world tales.
