Using drama in the classroom for Primary School teachers and drama practitioners is a day long workshop designed to introduce different ways of using drama in the classroom including interactive storytelling and drama games and exercises. The participants will actively participate in the workshop in order to gain a clear understanding of the drama process from both sides. At the end of the session, the participants will have created a short piece of theatre from scratch that they can then use again should they wish.
The delegates will receive a complete workshop plan from the day filled with practical ideas they can use with their class.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course you will have achieved these outcomes:
• Working in a different way – teaching different subjects through creative drama
• A wider knowledge and understanding of using creative drama techniques and games
• An understanding of how to create performance within a short space of time
• A greater confidence to try these drama skills in your own classroom
