World Book Day Fun

The whole school enjoyed celebrating World Book Day.   There were lots of literacy activities planned during the day including a reading tombola, where children were given a ticket which linked to a book which they could read with their buddy.  The house challenge was to create a book cover on each classroom door.  The doors look wonderful!

It was lots of fun because we dressed up as our favourite book characters such as Elsa and Anna.    Elyza P1

I think Rowan in P3 and Rowan in P1 looked amazing.  Olivia P1

I was dressed as Horrid Henry from Horrid Henry’s underpants.  I was really proud of my costume  Jack P2

It is World Book Day at Uplawmoor Primary School.  Miss Miller has been busy organising a fun day of activities and storytelling to celebrate books, illustrators, authors and most importantly, READING!

After a parade of costumes, all of the children voted for their favourite ‘character’ and the winners were as follows:

P1/2  Zoe  (Robin Hood)

P2/3  Angelina (Tiger who came to tea)

P4/5  Gabriel (Diary of the Wimpy Kid)

P6/7  Cameron (The Scarecrow from Goosebumps)

Thank you to Mrs Wengel, Mrs McGillivray and Miss Green for coming into school and reading to the children.  They thoroughly enjoyed having a new face read to them in class!Eva Harvey Emily LeitchDSCN2808DSCN2795DSCN2758
