We entered a crazy creature competition which we had to write a story under a hundred words and we got a letter to say we are all getting our work published in a book! If we win the competition we get £1000 and if we are second we get £500. In third  place you get £250 for your whole school . We will give it to the pupil council the money if we win!  By Alex Goldie P5

P2/3 Assembly

img_3175Thank you to the parents and families who came to spend the afternoon with P2/3 learning about the Rights of the Child.  Also, a big thank you to Mr Frame who came to talk to the pupils about the project he is working on to provide more sustainable energy to the people of Africa.

We also celebrated Max, Mhairi, Mikey and Sophie who all earned a brick for our skills for life, learning and work wall.

The pupil council spoke to the audience about their all day dodgeball event which the media committee will be promoting and Zara spoke of P4/5’s success in a writing competition.  More details to follow!

Primary 2 Learn About The Orchestra

By Rowan P3 and Jack P2.

Primary 2 are learning about the orchestra and had a shot of playing different percussion instruments like the drum, the triangle and the tambourine. Then we invited Ashley, Dylan and Matthew to come in to play their own instruments and teach us about the flute, saxophone and chanter.

P4/5’s Reading Area

img_2450P4/5 were given an area of the classroom to create a space which they felt would enhance their learning.  After much discussion they decided to create a reading area.  They then researched ideas and designed and created their own reading ‘den’.  As you can see they are making good use of the space already!

“It’s nice and quiet in our den, so it’s good for reading’  Daniel

“It’s like a relaxing reading station with beanbags and pillows.  It was good that we came up with the idea.”  Alex
