Raising Money For Cancer Research

Two of our pupils Fraser  and Victoria  McKinlay  helped their mum Alison to officially hand over a cheque for the wonderful sum of £7770 to Dr Reed at the Beatson, West of Scotland Cancer Centre on Tuesday 2nd October.

The money was raised from a charity night  which was held at the Renfrew Ferry on Friday 8th June. Fraser and Victoria helped with the planning and organisation of the event and on one of their holidays from school, sold £1430 worth of tickets for the gig and raffle tickets.

Well done Fraser and Victoria

Charities Week

Charities Week is just 3 school weeks away !! Time to get cracking if you want to be involved !!

If you would like to mount an activity such as Cake Baking, Henna Painting, Mastermind, X-Box workshop . . .  anything which would make some money for Charities week  –  go to see Ms Hamilton (Business Studies) or Miss Khan (Maths) and get an application form from them.  If you just want to discuss your ideas with them then go to see them this week.

If you want to perform in one of the lunchtime shows, go to see Mr O’Donnell (Maths).  He will give you an application form.

This week is the time to do this – don’t leave it until it is too late.  Get your application forms, fill them out and return them as soon as possible.

Charities Week

Charities Week is only 7 weeks away.  Now is the time to start thinking about what YOU are going to do this year to contribute to Charities Week.

If you are a singer, dancer, acrobat, juggler, comedian, musician  …  start thinking now about your act for the lunchtime shows.  If you want to be involved in an activity such as cake baking, 5 – a – side football, tombola stall  or whatever you think might help make money  …  now is the time to start talking to your pals to get some ideas.

Over the next few weeks you will be given details of how to go ahead and start up your fund raising activity.  Meanwhile, get the thinking caps on and start talking to your friends about your ideas… and start practising your act if you want to be part of the lunchtime shows.

Anything you want to ask at this stage   …  see Mrs Hamilton in Business Studies or Miss Khan or Mr O’Donnell in Maths.

Mary’s Meals

A letter was received from Mary’s Meals stating:  ‘Thank you for the fantastic donation of 30 backpacks and backpack extra items we recently received from you.  These will be shipped to our project in Malawi.

These backpacks will make a massive difference to the children who attend our schools.  They are now able to take notes in class and revise successfully for exams.  Thank you for your continued support.’

Congratulations to Ms Fusaro and the pupils involved in this excellent achievement
