Senior Options Booklet

This year’s senior options booklet, ‘The Way Ahead’ is now available for you to view here.

The booklet will provide a comprehensive guide for you and your child to reference over the coming weeks.

The booklet details courses that will be available for S5 and S6 pupils in the next academic year here in Mearns Castle as well as information about the extensive vocational programme that we run in conjunction with our partner colleges. We would encourage pupils to read through the booklet prior to their options interviews and we again extend the invitation for parents to join us at the forthcoming Options Evening here in the School at 7.00pm.

Well, this role might be for you!

We are looking for committed, dynamic young people to join our team as SCILT interns. This would see you using social media regularly and collaborating effectively with a team to demonstrate your love of languages and where they can take you, on a national, international and global level. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to experience a professional work internship and enhance their sixth year at school.

Please note that interns will be home-based and the opportunity is open to young people across the country. Successful applicants must commit to attending a training day in Glasgow on Tuesday 12 June 2018.

Applications for the Sutton Trust Summer School 2018 are now open!

OPEN TO S5 PUPILS ONLY

The University of St Andrews is one of ten UK universities which facilitates the Sutton Trust Summer School: a unique summer programme for S5 pupils, provided free of charge. As a participant, pupils will gain an insight into life as a first-year undergraduate through attending academic subject strands taught by leading experts. Subject strands often combine two or more areas, allowing pupils the chance to explore a range of possible courses and develop key academic skills before committing to university study. Pupils will also receive valuable advice on making UCAS applications, as well as on finance, careers and accommodation options.

Applications close on the Thursday 8 March 2018 at 5pm.

All teacher verifications must be submitted by 5pm on Thursday 15 March 2018.
