Congratulations

Congratulations to the pupils who represented Mearns Castle at the “Go Live” Radiothon on the 12th June.

The S4 pupils: Alana Daly, Calum Robinson, Megan Gemmell, Gregor Dron and Elijah Pina were a credit to their school and performed brilliantly on the day, with the regular presenters commenting not only on their enthusiasm, but also on how natural and assured they were “On Air”.

A particular mention has to go to Elijah , whom the professionals were so impressed with that he has actually been given his own regular Sunday night slot. (So tune in to 98.4 Pulse fm this Sunday to support Elijah and listen to his dulcet tones).

Green Flag

Congratulations to Mearns Castle on achieving the Eco Schools Green Flag- a prestigious international award!

This would not have been possible without the whole school working together. A special thanks to all the pupils who helped on the day with the assessors visit especially the eco committee who guided the assessors through their visit.

Look out for the Green Flag flying outside the school very soon!

Mearns Kirk Parish Church School Art Competition

Mearns Kirk Parish Church held an art competition to help celebrate their upcoming Bicentenary Celebration of their church building (1813-2013).

There was an exhibition held over the weekend with a silent auction held on Friday night. It was a unique opportunity to view all the art work depicting Mearns Kirk created by hundreds of pupils from Kirkhill Primary, Mearns Primary, Crookfur Primary and Mearns Castle High School following our invitation to take part in the bi-centenary School Art Competition.
