Many thanks to all the staff from SSE who worked in the Sensory Garden with our Parent Ground Force Team.
This was part of a great initiative where thanks to the community volunteering project, Be the Difference, employees have the opportunity to take a day out of their typical working life to support local community projects. We were able ‘borrow’ a team of hands, minds, ideas and skills completely free of charge to give our Sensory garden a bit of a makeover!
Looking forward to staff from @SSE coming to school tomorrow to work in the sensory garden, thanks to the community volunteering project, be the difference.

Our pupils have had an amazing week of sensory experiences, finished off with an amazing story performance this afternoon. A great end to our outdoor learning week.

Pupils from classes Staffa and Skye were given the opportunity to work with Rachel and our very own dance specialists Linda and Ruth from Waterbaby Dance Company.
The staff spent time getting to know the pupils and letting them explore the equipment before getting in on the action. This was very important for some of our pupils who have autism and require extra time to process and try a new experiences.

The last ever book sale from ERC Culture and Leisure will be held on Saturday 13th May at Carmichael Hall from10am – 4pm.
All children’s books including Teenage £0.30 or 4 for £1.00
All classes have been set a challenge for Earth Hour today from 10:30 – 11:30am.
This is a perfect opportunity for some outdoor learning.
Staff will monitor the usage before and after and see what difference what we can make.
Pupils from Class Yell shopped today for ingredients to make cakes for their Red Nose Day Bake Sale.
When the store managers learned why they were shopping, they kindly agreed to donate some cakes for the sale – thank you to Laura at Waitrose, Kim at Sainsbury’s and Jacqui at Morrison’s.
Please remember to send your child in with money on
Friday so they can buy some of these delicious cakes and support Red Nose Day.
Spring Cycling Festival Saturday 18 March at Rouken Glen Park next to the Walled Garden.
Save the date for our Mela Film festival coming up, to showcase some of the work classes have been involved in this term.

Staffa and Jura had a great time on Tuesday, pancake day.
After they made their pancakes, they took their learning outdoors.
Think it’s fair to say they had a “flipping” good time.
Isobel Mair School is taking part in Waste week, where pupils & staff will be encouraged to think about recycling & re-using materials in different ways and then design something for the “Upcycling Competition 2017” organised by classes Lewis and Sanda.
All the entries will be displayed at the whole school assembly on Friday 3rd February and the winning entries will be on display at the Parents Evening on Monday 6th February.
The winners will also be entered into a national Waste Week Competition which is taking place in March! Further details about the national competition can be found below http://jointhepod.org/waste-week-2017
We are celebrating Robert Burns Day next Wednesday afternoon in the MOD.
Senior pupils will recite some Scottish poems and we will have a showcase from our very own Reels on Wheels.
All pupils are encouraged to bring some tartan accessories to school for the Scottish Ceilidh in the afternoon.
On Monday morning Staff and pupils from Loch Ness corridor and a few invited guests invited parents and pupils to watch a very special sensory experience, “The Scarecrow’s Christmas”.
Reminder to bring £1 and wear your Christmas Jumper
to school on Friday 16th December.
We are supporting Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day and all money raised will be sent to this great cause.
