I Can’t believe it’s not Ardentinny………..

This year we were unable to take part in our Actual Reality “Make Your Dreams Come True” weekend.

So we had to be inventful and come up with another plan…………………

Tomorrow we are having an “Ardentinny type” Buddy Day with students from Williamwood High & St Ninians High Schools.

Lots of outdoor activities have been planned to incorporate inclusion and team building with our pupils.

Some of the activities include a  treasure hunt, leaky pipe and the ski activity.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Grow Cook Eat Showcase Lunch

We are holding our annual Grow Cook and Eat Showcase Lunch at Isobel Mair School on Wednesday 5th June 2013 at 12noon.

This is an invite only event to allow the pupils involved to highlight the skills they have undertaken during the past year.

Using the produce they have grown during the year, they will prepare a lunch for our invited guests and parents.

Here are some of our students working independently, using some of the new techniques they have mastered.

Mary’s Meals Lunch

Mary’s Meals Lunch

Classes Tiree and Arran  invited their parents into school to have a special Mary’s Meals lunch on Friday 26th April.

Both classes worked very hard preparing their menu, shopping for the ingredients and cooking the meals……. lots of skills involved.

Class Tiree were very excited about making their soup and Pierce was able to tell everyone the ingredients involved in making the potato and leek soup.

Well done everyone.

Zumba with Susan

Many thanks to everyone who supported our Zumbathon today.

Our Zumba Instructor Susan, (Mrs Kidd’s sister) took 3 classes with the pupils this morning and they all had great fun, getting fit and having fun at the same time!

This afternoon it was the turn of the parents…………….
They were put through their paces and all took part enthusiastically, even during some of the more intricate moves!

Many thanks to everyone who turned up for the event and help support Amy get closer to her fundraising target for her rhythmic gymnastics.

Red Nose Day 2013

Red Nose Day 2013

Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in all our fundraising events for Comic Relief.  IMS Student Council, supported by the Family Centre, worked really hard to organise a number of activities for Red Nose Day including a raffle, a chocolate fountain and a Nail Bar.  Pupils also came dressed in red and were able to have their faces painted too.   Two of our hairier teachers, Mr McLaughlin and Mr Holmes had their legs waxed, which helped to raise lots of money and also gave staff and pupils a good laugh!

The most successful event had to be the Pie Throwing, which involved cream and a whole lot of messy faces!!  The pupils got to throw cream pies at their favourite teachers, just to show their appreciation!  Thanks to Mr Crossan,Miss Scrimgeour, Mrs Clarke, Mrs Blackbourn and Miss Turner for volunteering their faces!!

The day culminated in an ‘IMS has Talent’ show, where many of the pupils performed their favourite songs.  What a talented bunch!!

All in all, IMS managed to raise over £400 and once again, we thank all of those who donated as well as the seniors involved in organising all the events.  Well done!!
