Thank You to everyone who came to support our MAIRtrade Fair.
I’m sure you will agree it was a huge success as we encourage our pupils to help others.
The children have all worked so hard learning all about Fairtrade and how it helps others. They were all successful learners as they promoted the use of Fairtade materials to produce all of their crafts and baking.
We are delighted to inform you that we raised the magnificent amount of £670

Classes Iona and Mull walked to the cafe at Newton Mearns Baptist church yesterday for pancakes.
On the way they practised their road safety skills and used the green man crossing.
At the cafe they all sat well and ordered delicious pancakes. Our Fairtrade lesson continued into the cafe as Leia discovered some Fairtrade sugar.

Today we welcomed pre school children from Isobel Mair Family Centre and the Glen Family Centre who will be joining us after the summer holidays.
This transition allows the pupils to get used to being in a new environment, meet their peers and staff and make the transition to school life a lot easier for them and their families.
Today they all enjoyed meeting their new friends and exploring different areas of the school.
Class Bute have been learning all about Fairtrade inpreperation for our MAIRtrade Fair and to help us on our journey to become a Green Flag ECO school
Come along and support our Eco work, browse the stalls and help us reduce, reuse and recycle.
Our next Parent Council meeting will take place on Thursday 19th February at 7pm.
Class Arran visited the Ashoka Cook School as part of their Fairtrade avtivities.
The senior pupils had a sensory experience, smelling alll the spices and then they watched a demonstration from the chef. They are going to be making some pakora for the MAIRtrade event on Thursday.
Class Islay have been working hard on their FAIRtrade and Eco projects for the MAIRtrade event this Thursday.
Good Luck to some of our senior pupils who are taking part in the West of Scotland Cross country event at Bellahouston park this morning.

Some of our pupils attend the Saturday morning drama club, Glee.
This Saturday sees the end of all the hard work and rehearsals.
Come see them perform “oor Annie” at Eastwood Theatre on Saturday evening at 6pm.

On 19 February, we will be holding MAIRtrade, a fairtrade and eco fair.
One of the stalls at the event will be a book swap, which will help to promote the concept of ‘reuse’.
Have a clear out of your book shelf and for every book your child brings in before 19 February, he/she will receive a token. At MAIRtrade, tokens can be swapped for other childrens’ books.
This is a great way to support reading and to keep our bookshelves fresh.
One of our parents visited the new facilty at Hillington – Karting with a Conscience at the weekend.
This facilty provides Go- Karting experiences that will suit all age groups and abilities! See previous post for more information

In February and March 2015, Sleep Scotland will be holding a series of 10 Parent Workshops, specifically for parents and carers of children or young adults
with autism or Asperger’s Syndrome and sleep problems. The workshops are part of a short pilot-project, supported by the Scottish Government Autism Fund, and running until the end of March 2015.
