Go Green for Halloween on Monday 31st October, 10am.
Join class Islay for some scary activities and whatever you dress up as for Halloween, make it green and raise money for the NSPCC.
Class Lewis made Lemon Squash Soup this afternoon from the harvest crop that our parent ground force team grew.
They had to wash the crop, chop all the ingredients, stir, cook and blend.
The aroma was amazing and everyone enjoyed having a taste.
Lovely interactions during an individual dance session with Ruth, one of our dance specialists.
C was so engrossed in the session and initiating some of his own moves for Ruth to copy. He was so proud of himself.

Classes Fetlar, Unst and Yell classes who are based up at Woodfarm High School recently made a short video as part of their class assembly.
They created a storyboard and decided who the characters were and then created a short murder mystery type movie, called Whodunnit?
Mrs Simpson and Mrs Barron our Makaton Champions with some of the pupils, signing teacher to celebrate World Teacher Day.

Does your child require glasses and struggle to find suitable frames?
There is a Dispensing clinic at Caledonian University for children who have complex needs and Visual Impairment.
They have a very good range of frames including some which are specifically designed for children with Downs Syndrome.
It is non-profit making service so much cheaper than a lot of the stores.
Appointments can be arranged by calling 0141 331 3377 or you can use the drop in service.
Students are always on site but everything is supervised and checked by a qualified optician.

Class Staffa used PODD books during creative writing and story telling activity this morning.
Each pupil had to choose a character, animal, problem, how to fix it and how do they feel.
With support from class staff they were able to compose a story and then write it down.
Everyone listened to Mrs McEwan as she read out all the stories.

One of our primary pupils learning to tolerate noise cancelling headphones in class to cut down background noise and support his sensory processing.
This morning some our new parents of P1 pupils attended an introduction to PECS workshop. This was supported by Mrs Simpson and Miss McKay who are our PECS champions in the school.
We will be holding monthly workshops and will update you very soon with dates.
Class Bute made apple suncatchers this afternoon as part of their harvest topic.
You can see them displayed outside their classroom.
Lots of strategies and resources being shared with parents at the relationships & sexual health drop in session this afternoon with Mrs Goodlad and Miss McMillan.
