Meeting the Deputy First Minister

Our Head Boys, Rob and Marc and Head Girl Katherine had a very important role a few weeks ago.

They were so excited when they heard they had to greet and give a tour of the school to Mr John Swinney, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills.

They took their very seriously and waited very patiently for his arrival!

Mr Swinney immediately put our young people at ease and introduced himself to them.

Katherine took the lead and told him all about our achievement board.

Marc led him the tour of the school and told him a little about himself and the classes as they walked around the school.

Have a look at some of the photographs from the visit.

Let’s go fly a kite……

Class Staffa had great fun at Ayr beach today.

They set up the tent, made sandcastles, paddled, flew the kite, had a picnic lunch, played in the park and rounded off the day with a delicious ice cream.

Laughed lots as the teachers tried to stop the tent from blowing away!

Great fun had by all.

Connecting with wildlife…….

We’re all going to the zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow……

Class Shetland had the most amazing day out to celebrate the end of term at the Five Sisters Zoo in West Calder.

The sun was shining and the children had great fun taking time to explore and get used to the sensory experience, and meet some of the animals. This was a great fun achievement for some of the children.

Have a look at some of the photos from today’s outing.

Alice in Wonderland

What an amazing night at Eastwood theatre last night.

The Stargaze drama group, after school club organised by Miss Antelmi put on a wonderful performance of Alice In Wonderland, with not just one Alice but three……….

Last minute nerves were setting in behind the scenes but the pupils pulled it off when the curtains opened.

Congratulations to them all and especially Miss Antelmi and her staff of volunteers who help out every Wednesday after school, we couldn’t do it with you all.

Watch this space for next years performance……
