Policy on School Uniform

Dressing for Excellence

In East Renfrewshire we strive to achieve our vision.

Supporting Schools to robustly implement school uniform / dress codes is an important way of reinforcing this drive for excellence.

Having a high standard of uniform can:

  •  contribute to school security and personal safety;
  •  instil pride in the school and contribute to its values;
  •  promote a positive and professional work ethic;
  •  help pupils to see schools as places of learning ;
  •  support positive behaviour;
  •  encourage identity with, and support for, school ethos;
  •  promote equality of opportunity and social justice;
  •  protect children from social pressures;
  • foster a spirit of partnership among pupils, staff and home and
    school;

Dressing for Excellence is a policy approved by East Renfrewshire ‘s Education Committee and was formulated following discussions with head teachers and Parent Council chairpersons.

A journey through Roald Dahl

Farewell to Rob and Rebecca

Class Arran put on an amazing performance of Roald Dahl stories as part of their assembly and as a goodbye to Rob and Rebecca.

A magical sensory story involving Matilda, James & the Giant Peach, Miss Trunchball and lots of others characters who travelled on their journey throughout the year as part of their Literacy study in class.

An amazing performance from start to finish and had the pupils, parents and staff  totally engaged and engrossed in the performance!

Leavers Service 2017

Thank you to all our families, friends and past members of staff who came to our Leavers’ Service today to celebrate the 8 young people who are leaving the school to attend college and other placements.

We had lovely singing from the senior pupils and then we watched a slideshow of through the years at IMS.

We finished on a lighter note with our yearly end of term video  which you can view here

Our Young people who are transitioning up to our base at Woodfarm High School were presented with their ties and a formal presentation of the Alex O’Donnell sports cup was awarded to Joey for outstanding sporting achievements.

The celebrations finished off with our leavers being presented with their hoodies and a photo album highlighting their time at IMS.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our leavers a very successful  transition to their new placements,  Nicholas, Rebecca, Rob, Heather, Marc Katherine, Hannah and Stuart.
