Interviews by the Head Girl

At our recent GIRFEC Conference ( getting it right for every child) our Head Girl Chloe had the repsonsiblity of not only introducing the conference but interviewing some of the keynote speakers and guests.

She interviewed Mrs Shaw, Director of Education, Mr Smiley, Senior Psychologist, Campus Cop based at Eastwood High School, parents and staff.

Chloe did a great job as she put them on the spot, asking what GIRFEC meant to them and what they would take away from the conference.

Open Morning

“The Enormous Turnip”

Classes Staffa and Jura invited their parents and grandparents into school for an open morning on Friday 15th February.

The highlight of the visit  was to watch the premier of  “The Enormous Turnip”.

All the pupils took part with great enthusiasm. Prior to the performance the children all read the story and made up a storyboard with audio for the audience to introduce the story, this was then shown on the large screen.

Then the fun began………………… Mark was the farmer and Amber was his wife. They told the story and each character was introduced in turn as they tried to pull out the turnip.

This was a great achievement for all the pupils and the open morning created an opportunity for them to become successful learners and confident individuals performing infront of a live audience.
