Harvest Time

Successful Learners  Confident Individuals   Effective Contributors

The Snowdrops have enjoyed Harvest activities this week. They demonstrated understanding by following instructions to  make paper plate scarecrows. They particularly enjoyed adding the scarecrow’s hair and googly eyes.

The Snowdrops also learned a few Harvest songs and made a shaker which they enjoyed using during singing time. Dingle Dangle Scarecrow was a firm favourite!

Harvest – Corn on the Cob Crafts

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Daisies class have enjoyed some Harvest themed activities. We loved making a dingle dangle scarecrow using a range of 2D shapes. We also used cheerios to make a corn on the cob craft.

We used the cheerios and blitzed them to make a cheerio sand sensory tray. We loved exploring this! Some of this also enjoyed tasting the cheerios.

Harvest Festival Fun

We have enjoyed our time learning about harvest time, different foods produced, helping others and being thankful for the food we eat.
We went on a food hunt round our classroom and used a checklist to make sure we had found all the items, we made a scarecrow and chose which materials to use for the scarecrow’s hair. We also collected food for the local food bank and took it to the collection point in the school. This afternoon we made our own classroom harvest wreath and made a harvest shaker to shake while we sang harvest songs at the end of the day.
Well done, Asteroids!

IDL Literacy

The Asteroids have been enjoying their topic, Oliver’s Vegetables.

We have been reading the book together, dressing up as the main characters and have shown good recall of the main events in the story. We have been sequencing the story using visuals and have been able to answer some comprehension questions based on the story. We have also been matching key words to pictures and characters. Awesome Asteroids Alert!
