Fun With Maths

The Transition boys were Effective Contributors by identifying correct value sequence for their coins. Later in the week the boys discovered the mass of sugar in popular drinks and then weighed out the sugar into bags for a wall display. Some soft drinks have a lot of sugar in them!  All the Boys were Successful  Learners.

Football Crazy

The Transition boys were Successful Learners  when they selected and read a football magazine to find interesting information. The boys chose their articles and displayed them in a new way. Well done boys, very interesting!

Gardening? You can count on it!

With the good weather this week the Transition boys got out into the garden and applied their numeracy skills. The garden needed a tidy and the boys were Effective Contributors collecting the tires and arranging them in pairs. The used their knowledge of the two times table to count the total number of tires. Later in the week our peas needed some support so the boys applied their measuring skills to cut and create a wire support.

Diary Time

The Transition boys were Successful Learners when they added new pages to their diaries. The boys wrote about activities they took part in over the Easter Holidays. Each boy had an interesting tale to tell!

A Close Shave

The Transition boys were Confident Individuals when they were practising putting foam evenly on their faces and then their shaving skills ( using dummy razors on balloons). No balloons popped!

Community Travel

The Transition boys were Responsible Citizens on their community travel trip into town. They teamed up with their friends from the Oak class to choose their own snack at the shops.

Bushcraft in the Sun

On Thursday afternoon the Transition boys took part in outdoor learning and had a short session on bushcraft. They all had a turn at lighting fires with a flint and steel with their own tinder. They helped erect a hammock and took turns in using it. The boys were all Responsible Citizens when we lit the main fire. We even managed to cook popcorn over the fire!

A Chocolate Egg-sperience!

The Transition boys were very happy to have another excuse to have chocolate! They boys were all Effective Contributors when they coated balloons with chocolate to make their own Easter eggs. At time of writing the chocolate hadn’t set. Watch this space to find out how successful we were!

Spring has Sprung, The Grass is ris

The Transition class were fortunate to get a visit from some Spring Lambs this week. The boys were all Responsible Citizens. They were calm around the lambs and took care not to frighten them.  I think the boys would have gladly kept one as a class pet!

Sensory Time!

The Transition boys engaged in sensory time this week. They helped set up the room and showed respect for each other which allowed everyone to take part in an activity of their choice with space and calmness. The boys were all Responsible Citizens.
