SQA ECO group are being responsible citizens and created posters to request old mascara wands. We watched videos on animals being looked after and cared for using recycled mascara wands
The class took the posters around the school to let everyone know we want all old mascara wands. Do not put them in the bin send them to the Oak class.
The SQA Practical Crafts group have been having a fantastic time creating shadow puppets. Big thank you to the Puppet Theatre Workshop who have been helping the children to get creative and design some wonderful characters. The children also had the opportunity to record their own jingle for the final show. Confident individuals and effective contributors!

This SQA group are currently learning all about life in China. This week we focused on the languages of China and learned some numbers in Manderin!
We enjoyed learning them in a variety of sensory and experiential ways.
The Community SQA group went for a walk to our local shop to look for some Fairtrade products by recognising the logo. We found some known signs on the way!
The Signs in the Community group used our knowledge and understanding of some LGBT signs and logos to recreate the Willowbank logo! We were very creative and effective contributors as we brainstormed our ideas.
MOVE group were confident individuals today, we listened to our LGBT book ‘Tango Makes Three’, we then created a penguin family piece of art work using our fingerprints. Making our painting unique to us! We listened and sang ‘This is me’ whilst taking it in turns to play our instruments.
Adam was very lucky and got to try out a new walker for comfort and size.
SQA Music group today had a busy afternoon! We had a mini talent show with two very different performances. Gemma and Oliver were confident individuals to stand up in front of their peers and perform. We had a singing performance of ‘Never Enough’ and a dance performance to ‘Grease Lightening’. I will let you work who did which performance.
We all played instruments to be effective contributors to work as a group and produce music to the song ”Happy’.
We also explored sound through the sound beam and switches. Jacob, Jessica and Lyle were Gemma’s backing group. They explored and created the sound effects whilst Gemma sang her song.
Melanie, Adam and Lyle all had fun this afternoon whilst working hard on their movement skills. They were effective contributors when using the sound beam and Melanie was a confident individual when playing the piano.
We had lots of laughs in our Fun with Food group this morning, we were making apple frogs then tasting fruit. All the boys are very confident individuals when trying all the food with little prompting needed.
They are all becoming more curious about exploring and trying new food! Very pleased with them all, lots of smiles!
