Tattie Scone Tasting!

The Bluebells class enjoyed making tattie scones and link sausages at cookery. We all took turns using the frying pan and were very safe and careful. We were also ALL brave enough to taste either the sausages or tattie scones.

Making a Stick House!

The Bluebells class enjoyed sourcing materials outdoors. We found sticks, leaves and pine cones and used them to create a house shape. We really enjoyed working together and were happy with our final result.

Scottish Dancing

We have been enjoying learning all about Scotland through our theme. On Monday, we were effective contributors and took part in a ceilidh with our peers and class staff.

 

 

We did very well to take turns, enjoyed experiencing the music, and copied new dance moves.

Mapping our Route!

The Bluebells class went a walk to Scotmid to buy some snacks today. We used Google Maps on Miss Gemmell’s phone and followed the route to get us to the shop.

Exploring Google Maps!

The Bluebells class enjoyed searching for their houses on Google Maps. We explored all of our streets and pointed out our houses and other areas of interest. We had great fun doing this!

Step by Step Drawing Skills

The Bluebells class completed a step by step drawing task today. We drew a house just like one of the houses in our theme story ‘Thistle Street’.

Housework Helpers!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *

The Bluebells class have been doing lots of activities related to our theme story ‘Thistle Street’. One of the characters in the story is Agnes Auld and she is a cleaner.

Today we had a roleplay session taking on the job of Agnes Auld. We tried hovering, mopping dusting with a feather duster and washing the dishes.

We all tolerated trying these jobs and then reflected on what was our favourite and what was our least favourite.

House Hunting!

The Bluebells class had a fun bus outing today. We went for some chips at McDonalds Drive Thru and then went a drive around Kilmarnock looking at different styles of houses. We had been reading our theme story ‘Thistle Street’ and tried to find similar houses and buildings. We found bungalows, flats, semi-detached houses, houses with garages, schools and churches.

Christmas Crafts

We had lots of fun applying our home economics skills to make some salt dough ornaments.

We added ingredients to the bowl, stirred them together and rolled out the dough. We also chose our favourite shaped cutter to press into the dough.

What will the wind blow?

The Bluebells class enjoyed a science lesson where they had to identify is objects would blow in the wind. We used a fan as our wind machine and they really enjoyed watching a range of objects fly across the room.
