Reporting to our Parents
Throughout the school year, we will use a variety of strategies to report to our parents on a regular basis. It is important that you can access each of those detailed below. If you are experiencing difficulty with any of our communication platforms, please contact the school for support.
School App
As we are a paperless school, the School App is our main method of communication when reaching out to our parents quickly with important matters.
To download the app, please search PSA in the Apple of Google Play app stores.
School Blog
The School Blog will be used to share whole school matters and events with our families.
Please find the link below to the main page. You may find it useful to save this as a shortcut on your mobile device to enable you to access it easily.
The many tabs on the School Blog can be used to navigate a wealth of information about our school which is shared there.

Learning Journals
This session we will be using Learning Journals across the whole school from P1-7 to report on individual children’s progress across the curriculum.
Photos and comments about your child’s learning will be shared with our families on a private profile here, enabling you to view, comment and share learning experiences which take place outside of school.
Please ensure that you have submitted your contact details to enable you to access your child’s account.

Our School App remains our main source of communication between ourselves and our families.
Please make sure you have downloaded the app and select New Cumnock Primary School from the list.
Don’t forget, you can filter the app to receive messages applicable to your child’s class. Please ensure you select ‘whole school’ as well when you do this, so as not to miss whole school messages.

Family Literacy – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Families Connect at NCPS
Families Connect is an evidence based programme developed by Save the Children UK that supports parents/carers to engage in their children’s learning.
New Cumnock Primary School has been chosen to take part in the Scottish Government’s Pilot Study and will be delivering this weekly for 6 weeks with the first session taking place on Thursday 12th May.
Families will receive excellent resources which they will be able to keep in order to connect and communicate with their child at home.
The commitment is only 1.4 hours online once a week for 6 weeks. This would be such a valuable opportunity for every family!

Feedback for Video Parent Calls- P1A and P7
We are looking for feedback around the use of video calls for parents evening from P1A and P7 parents.

Learning Together National Network Webinars
Careers Advisers from Skills Development Scotland have now delivered the webinar for parents and carers which gave an overview of Scottish Apprenticeships. During the webinar the advisers gave information about Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships. This was the latest in a series of webinars aimed at supporting parents and carers to help young people make smart career choices.
