Further to our recent visit from Celine at NEST we are delighted to be able to provide parent/carer workshops in school after the Easter break. These will be supported by myself, with Celine checking in every few sessions. In order to try and accommodate as many of you as possible please complete this short survey regarding preferrable times/days etc. This will allow us to create a time which we would hope to be suitable for the majority of those of you who wish to attend.

Tuesday 18 March – Calming techniques and health rights
Practically every carer has been confronted by a situation when their child and young person doesn’t have the toolkit to regulate their emotions. Wednesday 19 March – Blocked care and self-care
Join this workshop with a clinical psychologist to explore the occurrence of blocked care for kinship carers, and the importance of self-care. Find out what blocked care is, what it looks like, why it occurs, how it impacts relationships and parenting, and how to avoid and alleviate it with particular reference to self-care.

As well as keeping people safe on the streets, Police Scotland’s officers and staff keep the public safe online.
The Internet can be wonderful for children and young people. It can be used to research school reports, communicate with teachers and friends, and play interactive games. But online access also comes with risks, like inappropriate content, cyberbullying and scams. Ensuring children and young people stay safe online is a concern for every parent and carer.
In partnership with Police Scotland’s Cybercrime Harm Prevention Team, the Education Service is hosting two virtual events to discuss how you can help keep yourself and your loved ones safe whilst online – there will be a short presentation, followed by the opportunity to ask questions.
Your children are welcome to attend.
