P7 Residential Trip – Day 1
What an amazing first day we have had!
Today we have enjoyed crate climbing, outdoor laser tag, rafted canoeing and windsurfing. Everyone has shown such determination and enthusiasm for the activities, it has been great to see!
We have been so lucky with the weather too, we hope it remains for the duration of our stay.
We enjoyed some kick ball rounders tonight and are getting ready to enjoy marshmallows around the campfire soon.
P7s – Gala King and Queen
Primary 7 parents/carers,
The New Cumnock Events Group have asked us to appoint a ‘King and Queen’ to be part of the upcoming community Gala Day.
Due to the success of last years event to celebrate King Charles Coronation, the New Cumnock Events Group are busy organising another Gala Day for the local community. This will be held on Saturday 1st June.
Names of children who wish to be entered will be added to a hat and chosen randomly at Monday’s Get Together next week.
Children must be willing to dress up, happy to be part of a parade through the town and must be available on Saturday 1st June.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a huge community event!
Please speak with your child about what is expected of them if chosen and if they wish their name to be entered, please complete the Form below to submit their details by 8.30am on MONDAY 22ND APRIL please.
P7 Residential Trip – Kit List
The time is getting closer for our P7s to head away on their Residential Trip, so to help with preparations, please find a Kit List attached with suggestions of what to pack.
Please remember, that children are responsible for taking their own luggage, so be wary to not overpack!
Please also note, all medication which is required to be taken which is not currently kept in school, must have a medical form completed by a parent/carer (these can be sourced from the main office) and medicine handed into school the Monday before we leave. Children should not be packing any medication in their luggage, this will be the responsibility of staff to carry.
Mobile phones and other forms of technology are not permitted. Mrs McNulty and Mr Burns will be taking lots of videos and pictures which will be shared on our communication platforms throughout the trip. Should you need to contact your child in an emergency, please contact the school and the school will contact Mrs McNulty or Mr Burns.
Our days and evenings will be filled with lots of activities, however should your child wish to take something to entertain themselves with, I would encourage bringing cards/dominoes/a book. Something that is small to fit in their luggage.
If you have any questions or queries. Please contact Mrs McNulty or Mr Burns.

P7 BBC Burns LA.B Project
What an exciting couple of days we have had in P7 where we have been working with BBC Scotland Learning on a Burns LAB Project.
We have been reciting and recording poetry and creating stop motion animations.
We can’t wait for you to see our work with Jo Hall and her team when it is aired in January. We will keep you posted!
School Meal Crunch Deal – beating the crunch with a school lunch
The Council is reducing the cost of a school meal for P6 and P7 pupils, who pay for their school meal, to £1.08. This special deal will run from August 2023 to June 2024. The same menu options will be available and our school meals will be freshly prepared each day, using quality ingredients from local suppliers.

We are delighted to announce our P7 leadership team for the new school year 2023-24.
Every pupil displayed confidence in not only writing about why they should be chosen, but also in their confident speeches presented in class.
A huge thank you to all school staff and our Parent Council members for casting their votes.
