Our school football team played a home game today against Dalmellington. They were delighted with their 11-3 win. A huge thank you to Dalmellington for travelling to join us.

P6 Bikeability
Our Primary 6s have undergone their Bikeability Level 1 training.
We are extremely grateful to Courtney and Miss Nicholl for working with our young people to gain this award.
Bikeability Level 1 teaches us to:
- Maintain our cycle: making sure our ride is in tip-top condition and make simple repairs
- Glide: smooth, calm and collected
- Control our bike: including setting off, cruising, slowing down, braking and stopping. (You’ll even learn to pedal one handed!)
- Pedal: without feeling wobbly or out of control
- Be aware of our surroundings: looking behind and turning around obstacles
Poetry winners and school choir visit to Women’s Guild 17/2/26
Today our class poetry competition winners and school choir attended the Women’s Guild to perform their winning pieces for them. We had a lovely afternoon entertaining within our local community!
Welby Breakfast 17/2/26
A huge thank you to Yvonne and her team from Welby Breakfast for coming to visit us at school. We are extremely grateful to our local Premier store for nominating us to receive a visit.
Welby Breakfast are Scottish Government funded from the Healthy Living programme. They provided a fun, interactive morning where pupils were provided with healthy samples of breakfast ideas and were educated in the importance of how to start the day with a healthy meal.
Afton Lily Burns Supper 13/2/26
Well done to Stewart Y and Baylee M for kickstarting the evening by performing their winning poetry recitations at the Afton Lily Burns Supper tonight!
We are grateful of being able to showcase our young peoples talents to our local community. We hope everyone had a great night!

Valentine’s Disco 12/2/26
Tonight our P7s hosted their fundraising Valentine’s Disco to raise money for their upcoming P7 residential trip.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support us and to Primary 7 and Mrs Frew for putting on a great night for us all to enjoy.
Another thank you must go to our Parent Council who ran a tuck shop for us on the night of the disco and donated the profits of this to our P7s.
We are delighted to share that through ticket sales and the tuck shop, we have raised £466 which will go towards our P7 residential trip!

Lamb O’ Shanter Visit 11/2/26
Today P6 and P7 were fortunate enough to take part in the Lamb O’ Shanter experience and what a day we had!
We had lots of fun, laughs and great discussion with a wonderful message to share with our young people. Thank you Simon for coming to visit us and for kindly signing our books.
The Lamb O’Shanter Experience
We are excited to be welcoming author, Simon Lamb to school on Wednesday 11th February to work with our P6 and P7 pupils!
Simon will be selling copies of his new book, Mat O’ Shanter, during his visit. Copies are very limited and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
They are priced at £12.99 each. Cash must be brought in on the day, no change will be available so please send correct money in an envelope.
