P6 and P7 Loch Doon Water Safety Awareness Training
Today, P6 and P7 an outdoor water safety awareness course at Loch Doon.
We learned about the hidden hazards within and around the water and how to correctly use the life-saving equipment strategically positioned around the loch. Both classes received essential lifesaving skills training including CPR awareness and defib training and were taught how to float in the water, should they find themselves in danger. They also learned invaluable information about cold-water shock, which is one of the main causes of drowning in Scotland.
A huge thank you to Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Loch Doon Ranger Service, Forestry and Land Scotland for their informative sessions.

PE Weather
We hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather we have been having recently! As it is continue into this week, we will be taking PE lessons outdoors. Therefore, we ask that children come to school with a sun hat. Please let us know if you are unable to source a hat for your child and we can help you.
Can we please also ask that suncream is applied before children come to school, and if possible, they should have some in their school bag (with their name on it) that they can apply themselves if needed during the day.
Thank you for your cooperation.
