Chapter 12 and a couple of ideas
Here’s Chapter 12 of ‘A Stranger Came Ashore’ for those interested.
Otherwise for anyone who is needing something to do, I’ve been very busy over the last wee while with the Commonwealth Games and also with the garden. So to match up with those two, here are couple of things to keep you busy:
- Pick a Commonwealth country, find out as much as you can about them and present them in an interesting way.
- Maybe you visited the games in Glasgow (or you can imagine if you didn’t); write a report or story about it
- Using an old shoe box or similar, design your own garden. Use bits and bobs from the house, nothing new, like below
Summer Holidays
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer holidays and not reading this blog.
If you are reading this however, then I’m going to post some stuff over the next couple of weeks. I’ve got a few pics from over the last term to post and also some reading to upload on Sound Cloud for anyone interested to hear the end of ‘A Stranger Came Ashore’.

P1-4 Annan River Walk
Yesterday morning primary 1 to 4 went a walk along the Annan river to the Annan Cemetery. It was a beautiful day for the walk and Declan showed us all his Mums plaque.
Tesco Visit
Primary 1 to 4 children went on a trip to Tesco last Thursday as part of the Farm to Folk initiative. The children were made very welcome by the Tesco staff. They had a great time and got to make bread, doughnuts and their own fruit dessert.
Karate
Well done to Desiree who achieved her purple white belt in karate.
Rugby
Well done to Nathan who took part in a rugby competition with the Annan Tigers last week.
Well Done Tegan
Well done to Tegan who passed her intro 1 in Ballroom dance and intro 1 in Latin dance.
Gala Swimmers
Well done to Daniel and Douglas who took part in the Annan Riding of the Marches Gala front crawl swimming. Daniel came first in his event and Douglas came third.
Hillybilly Duathlon
Well done to Sarah, James and Emily who competed at the Hillybilly Duathlon at Kirroughtree near Newton Stewart at the weekend. The race consisted of a 10km run followed by an 18km mountain bike around the flowing trails of the Galloway Forest Park.
