P7 Enterprise
The P7s have been working hard over the last few Thursdays and Fridays trying to help at the Brydekirk Toddler Group on Friday mornings. So far they have surveyed the Parents and Toddlers to see what they would like and have started to bake. With an initial loan (which they have now payed back) they bought some ingredients for short bread and have had two goes at making it. The girls hope to continue to help out.
Well done!

Scots Wha Hae!
Here’s a video of the Scottish Country Dancing that Miss Irvine and Mr Archibald have been teaching to the whole school this session. P2-P7 had fun learning the dances to traditional music and also to Electronic Dance Music. Daft Punk were a particular favourite amongst the pupils.
The music in this recording is the song version of the Scots poem Scots Wha Hae! by Rabbie Burns which P5-7 learned during handwriting and Mr Archibald accompanied on the guitar. This poem is what Burns imagined Robert the Bruce might have addressed his troops with before the battle of Bannockburn. P5-7 have been learning about the Scottish Wars of Independence.
P5-7 Resolutions for 2020
At the start of term P5-7 set targets which they resolved to achieve this year. They tried to make them SMART Targets: S specific, M measurable, A achievable, R realistic and T time bound. The pupils then scanned them and manipulated them using MS Paint, so that I could upload them below. They have been displayed in class and each pupil has a copy of these targets in their Homework Diary.
Sportshall Athletics at Moffat
Here are some pics from the pupils that made it to Sportshall Athletics at Moffat on Friday. P4-7 have been working hard on their fitness and technique in the different track and field events in PE for most of the term and performed really well. Well done to all who made the trip and a special mention to Finbarr who arrived early on Friday with his gear incase we needed him. As some pupils who had been absent returned on the day Finbarr couldn’t make the trip (the bus was limited) but he’ll get to come next time. Also, thanks to our volunteer Mr Fitzgerald who helped to run an efficient team.
Tag Rugby
P6/7 went to a rugby tournament. At the start we were against all the small schools and it was fun! After that we went against some other schools. Then we went against another team and we had to get five tries and we came third place.

Road Relay
Our runners were in action last night at the Everholm in Annan. Well done to the girls team Ami, Emily and Brooke who came first in the P7 Small Schools Category. Also well done to the lads, Rio, Reuben and Conner who ran in the P6 category. As ever, all pupils were a credit to Brydekirk Primary.
Rights Respecting School
The whole school has been learning about childrens’ rights. The convention applies to everyone: whatever their race, religion or abilities are.

Kindess in P2-4
P2-4 sat in a circle and said things to build each other up. For example you are very kind and that would build someone up. They also drew pictures of themselves.
