Updating Pupil iPads

Last term it came to our attention that the iOS update on Pupil iPads was blocked and therefore, schools were unable to update to the latest iOS.

IT have now resolved the issue so we always advise that schools update their iPads to the newest iOS compatible with the device.

Santa on Glow TV

Santa Visits Glow TV | Glow Connect

Yes it’s that time of year again when we welcome Santa back to Glow TV! This year he will be visiting us on Friday 16th December at 10.45am.

Santa will be taking a break from making all the toys at the North Pole to come to a school in Scotland to answer all the questions that you might have about Christmas and Santa. How does he make all the toys? How does he deliver them all on time? What does he feed his reindeer? How does Rudolph help him with his red nose? These and many many more questions will be answered in this very special Glow TV event.

Apple Volume Purchasing Programme for Education

For licencing purposes schools are required to buy a licence for every iPad that a paid app goes onto. If you have 20 iPad and you would like Book Creator then you have to buy 20 copies. This can only be done with an Apple Volume Purchasing Account for Education (VPP).

If you do not have a school VPP account then you request one from susan.sey@aberdeneshire.gov.uk

Once your school has been enrolled then you can buy multiple copies of apps.                      The benefits are:

  • Apps are all purchased through the correct Aberdeenshire procedure
  • If you buy 20 or more then you get them half price
  • Licences are all accountable and easy to access

The VPP account is linked to a school gmail account which doesn’t have any personal data or information. This account is only used on a computer (not and iPad).

Your school will now have to purchase credit for the account before you can buy any apps.

Credit can be purchased via Oracle and the information for this is below.

Once you have ordered the credit info will be sent to the above g-mail address.

**You only have 4 weeks to click on the redeemable link in the e-mail. If you click on the link after the 4 weeks the link will have expired**.

Guidance notes can be found to support you with this by clicking on the link below.
