Annual Conference 2014
Our 65th conference ‘Parents Working Together’ was a great success thanks to the fantastic parents who led workshops on a wide range of topics, from getting parents involved in the running of a school to using social media effectively to communicate with parents. We’ll be posting a full report of the day on our website, including feedback and all workshop presentations, so watch this space!
Bullying and Harassment survey
LGBT Youth Scotland and RespectMe are carrying out a survey exploring prejudice based bullying and harassment in schools. One of the surveys is aimed at all secondary school students across Scotland and one is for secondary school teachers to examine the ways they would deal with bullying behaviour. The survey results will help identify positive practice in schools and highlight things that could be improved.
RespectMe
RespectMe is Scotland’s anti bullying service. They work with adults who have a role to play in the lives of children and young people to give them the practical skills and confidence to deal with bullying behaviour. RespectMe offer resources and training absolutely FREE OF CHARGE to help combat bullying behavior. To find out more about the organisation visit their website or see their list of upcoming training sessions.
