SPTC News e-update
August 2014

Welcome back to a new academic year! It’s hard to believe that schools are already back in session but we hope you’ve all enjoyed a well deserved rest this summer – as usual we’ve got lots to tell you about.
Scottish Learning Festival
Right now we’re in the middle of preparations for our Parents Connect stand at the Scottish Learning Festival, working with National Parent Forum of Scotland. This is the first time SLF has a space dedicated to parents. There will be discussion sessions on a variety of topics as well as visits from organisations who work with parents such as Families Need Fathers, Grounds for Learning, Enquire and many more. SLF has a busy programme of speakers, workshops and exhibition stands and it’s absolutely free to attend so register for your place on the SLF website.

SPTC Membership
If your group pays its own membership, you should have received and returned your membership renewal form to us- if you haven’t your membership has lapsed and you are not covered under the membership-linked insurance or entitled to SPTC member benefits. To find out what SPTC has to offer why don’t you have a look at our member leaflet?
This does not apply to those parent groups who are covered under their local authority’s group membership – check if your local authority is covered here.
If you want to renew now or have any questions or concerns about membership then please get in contact with us at sptc@spct.info or 0131 474 6199
