Week Beginning 07.05.18

RME

In RME we learned more about Buddhism and Buddha. We learned about the eight fold path and that it was the eight steps to enlightenment. We also learnt that Buddha discovered the eight steps to enlightenment.

IDL

In IDL we learned about different habitats that animals live in and drew maps of one of them with our talking partners. We had to include at least 5 labeled features as well as colour to show a true representation. Some other things we had to do were list at least 3 hazards to animals living there. Use a key to show what the colours or image meant and a description of the climate.

Cricket

In cricket we played a game of cricket. If you were a batter you had to hit the ball and then run around the cones before the fielders passed the ball around the cones.

Wall display

We made a Charles Darwin wall display. Some of the amazing things we made include: A giraffe by Carlotta, Butterflies by Lucy, Grace and Erin, Charles Darwin and Captain Fitzroy by Poppy.F and Brodie and finches by Amelia and Rachel.M along with many other amazing things!

Week Beginning 31.04.18

Expressive Arts

To start off the morning, we sang our hearts out in Expressive Arts. Continuing on from last week, we started to look at Jupiter- another one of Gustav Holtz’s amazing instrumental songs.

HWB

In Health and Wellbeing, we were focusing on the brain and the RAS system-       (The Reticular Activating System) and its job was to basically sieve out all the not important information that the brain doesn’t need to know about. It should send signals to the brain if it is important and you have to train your brain to do that.

Writing

In Writing, we were writing about Usain Bolt’s last ever race before he retired. We used descriptive words and made sure that we used an adjective in every single sentence!

P.E

In P.E, we continued learning our groovy dances to our amazing show coming up. It was really fun! Miss Mair has definitely come up with some great ideas.

Cricket

In Cricket, we had a mini game of cricket inside the Gym Hall. It was really fun and exciting! Although we had lots of fun inside, hopefully we can go outside next week; fingers crossed!

IDL

In IDL we carried out an experiment to discover why Finches developed different beaks depending on what they ate.

Science

In Science, we started an exciting experiment about corrosion. For the experiment we need a paper towel, a petri dish and a penny. It was our decision of what variable we wanted to put in e.g lemon juice, salt water, vinegar and water. We will be carrying on this experiment throughout the week.

We also had a visit from Generation Science, which was very cool!

ICT

In ICT, we were on a website called ‘The Hour Of Code’, we focused on a new coding game; it was The Star Wars one. It was challenging!
