Forestopia

Today, P5–7 visited two different woodland areas as part of our Forestopia topic. We explored a healthy, thriving forest and compared it with an area that had been deforested. The children looked closely at the plants, trees and habitats in each area and considered how the differences might affect the animals and other living things found there.

This gave us a great opportunity to investigate how forests support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, while also thinking about the impact that deforestation can have on our environment.
