Children from Kilninver, Easdale and Luing primary schools came together for a sports activity day.
Following a day of activity the children won the tug of war hands down, pulling the teachers clean off their feet
We are sure they wouldn’t have managed it if there hadn’t been 80 of them.

ROSNEATH RAMBLERS
Hello, we are Primary 7 at Rosneath Primary School and we love learning in the great outdoors. We call ourselves Rosneath Ramblers and every Wednesday we go out walking/hiking in different locations.
We would like to share our experiences with you. We have already hiked from Rosneath to Kilcreggan and back. We have been to the local woods – Clachan Glen and yesterday we hiked to The Trig Point in Kilcreggan. When we are out and about we do various activities, enjoying in particular building shelters. Southend Mini Olympics Training
Active Schools Co-ordinator, Robbie Kupris has started a 4 week after school block with parents to help the P4-7 children with their techniques in a variety of sports which they haven’t tried before. Today in glorious weather they had a go at javelin throwing. With a few pointers from Mr Kupris, the overall improvement was impressive. The children will use their new found skills at a Mini Olympics event in June.
Woodland Walks for Southend Pre-5 Unit
The first of our planned Woodland Walks took place this morning in a lovely wood near the school covered in bluebells. The 6 children from Southend Pre-5 Unit with their teachers enjoyed collecting things, playing games, singing songs and using their imaginations in the lovely surroundings. Great Outdoors – Innellan Primary School
Outdoor Learning has got off to a fantastic start this spring at Innellan Primary School. Our now well established After School Gardening Club organised by Miss Eleanor Stevenson, retired teacher, Mrs Vicki Walkingshaw, Parent Council Chairperson and Mrs Susan Stephenson, class teacher, are seeing the great benefits of all their hard work done during the winter months. Pirates in the Park – Garelochead Primary
Pirates came to Bendarroch Park in Garelochhead recently. Pupils took their learning outdoors when P3/2 class teacher Jane Allan worked in partnership with parent Katherine Price to bring learning to life! Pupils had worked in co-operative groups in class to use a variety of skills including map reading, problem solving and literacy. To round off their term’s work, they completed their Pirate topic with a Treasure Hunt. Kilcreggan Sports Relief fundraising update
We said we would keep you posted re our Sports Relief Fundraising activities. As well as our Sports Relief Mile our whole School took part in a production of The Selfish Giant (a musical). We gave two performances and donations have been given to Sports Relief.
In total over the two events our small School of 84 pupils has raised £882.60 and we still have some money to collect!

Events at Castlehill Primary
Pupils from Castlehill Primary School in Campbeltown have been involved in several events recently. These have included the Kintyre Schools Badminton Competition, the Sport Relief Mile and a School Concert.

SWIM AND WALK FOR SPORT RELIEF
Today was Sport Relief and at Port Ellen we were very sporty, celebrating in style. It was great to see all the children wearing red to raise money for Sport Relief. In the morning the whole school went to the swimming pool to take part in our swimming gala. It was very exciting, with some close run inter-house races! In the end the winners of the relay were Orsay, who also won the house swimming cup. The winning team were Maisie, Emily, Angus and Daniel. Southend celebrates Sports and Ecoschools
Southend Primary pupils have had a busy couple of days. Yesterday they completed their Sport Relief Mile with the help of Active Schools Co-ordinator, Robbie Kupris. The 12 pupils in Primary 4-7 raised a total of £233 for the event and the younger children cheered them on as they ran the course.
Earlier, pupils demonstrated their knowledge of CPR after a recent training event. They will be teaching parents at our Open Day about how to act quickly if a person collapses and stops breathing. Continue reading Southend celebrates Sports and Ecoschools
Kilcreggan Primary School – Sports Relief mile
What a beautiful day to go for a run! Today pupils, staff and parents from Kilcreggan Primary School took part in a 1 mile run in aid of Sports Relief. The sun shone, the children were smiling and everybody had a great time. Our event was sponsored so we hope to raise a good sum for the cause. We will keep you posted.
