Southend Primary pupils have had a busy couple of days. Yesterday they completed their Sport Relief Mile with the help of Active Schools Co-ordinator, Robbie Kupris. The 12 pupils in Primary 4-7 raised a total of £233 for the event and the younger children cheered them on as they ran the course.
Earlier, pupils demonstrated their knowledge of CPR after a recent training event. They will be teaching parents at our Open Day about how to act quickly if a person collapses and stops breathing.
Today (Friday 23rd March) pupils have enjoyed having two visitors to help them with their ongoing EcoSchools projects. Carol from SSPCA talked about wildlife safety in the morning and Julie from the GRAB Trust explained just how lethal litter can be to wildlife, especially around our coastline. We then went to one of the local beaches, Dunaverty Bay, for an afternoon of beach cleaning.
You sound like you have had a very active and healthy few days. We have just done a beach clean, what sort of rubbish did you find there was most of?
Cotton buds!
Well done to you all, I hope you never need to use the CPR Skills you have learnt
