The P7’s at Dunoon Primary School have been working on their IDL on Citizenship. Working in groups they have been researching and interviewing people in different sectors of the local community. Groups have been focusing on Care in the Community, Caring for the Environment, Other Cultures, The Law in Scotland, The Scottish Government and The History of Dunoon.

Dunoon Primary Vote for Clan Council
This week, the Primary 7 and Primary 6 pupils put themselves forward to be nominated for Clan Captain or Vice-Captain. This involved writing a short speech explaining why they wished to be nominated and what they will do this year to improve the school and support the children in their clans. On Thursday afternoon, we had a Clan Afternoon to carry out the vote. All of the children spoke very well and there were lots of good ideas to support the school. St Mun’s Primary School
The pupils of St Mun’s Primary School have been busy, throughout the Lenten period. Each class was challenged to organise and run an event to help raise money for two important charities: SCIAF and Multiple Sclerosis. Throughout March, a variety of activities took place: a Bring ‘n’ Buy sale, raffle, Easter Egg hunt, guess the name of the bunny competition, paper airplane race and a Coffee Morning to which parents and parishioners of Our Lady and St Mun’s Church were invited.
Dalintober PS and ELC ‘Citizenship’ Moderation Week
Dalintober PS and ELC pupils, teachers and partners recently planned, moderated and evaluated a Citizenship Week across the whole school. The focus was on rights and responsibilities, questioning, fact & opinion and bias & persuasion, ranging from local to global issues and priorities.
