On every Wednesday at school we have a science club. On the first week of science club we had to find out who put a white powder in Mrs. Clark’s hot chocolate. It was great fun. We had to find it by going to different parts of the kitchen and finding out whose mark matches the criminals mark. There was finger prints, bites on cups and we had to see what what pen was the same as the one the criminal used. The second week we got to make crystals. We made the crystals by putting in over salted water and food coloring to make them look good. On the last week of science club it was really disgusting because we were dissecting a fish and at the very end we dissected a deer heart. Although earlier before we were naming body parts and we got 2 chocolates out of an advent calender. We would like to thank the people from the high school for coming over to help us and we would really like it if science club is on again.

On Friday the 16th December, Port Ellen Primary School did a Christmas jumper day for Save the children. We raised £75.65 which was fantastic. We want to say a big thank you to everyone who wore a Christmas jumper and everyone who donated.
P5\6\7 have been doing Symmetry for math. We have look at shape symmetry and name symmetry. If you put a mirror in the middle of a shape you can check if its symmetrical or not. We all did name symmetry, it was really fun to make and they look really nice.
Port Ellen Christmas Fair was a great way to get ready for Christmas. P1\2\3 had the soap and bath bomb stall, P4\5 potpourri, chocolates, cookies, Christmas tree decorations, candle holder and more. P5\6\7 made Christmas magnets, Olaf’s, candles, lights, bobbles, tagul pictures, nativity finger puppets, little creatures and mirrors. Santa visited and we were very busy. The fair in total was a great success, the school made over £2,000. Thanks to everyone who came along to support the school.
