Cheerleading News ✨

Here are some pictures of our new school cheerleading troop! We have only been working together for 3 weeks now and look how well we are already doing! We have learned some cheer-pom dance routines, cheers and a simple roll and lift. Our troop is called the ‘Springles’ and we are getting ready to take on the cheerleading world! Thank you to all children who are taking part in this club for their hard word and enthusiasm.

European Day Of Languages Assembly…

A huge thank you to Mrs Gordon and her lovely helpers who put on an excellent assembly to celebrate modern languages last Friday. We had lots of children sharing their home languages with our school. Did you know that we have children in school who speak Russian, Italian, Polish, Arabic  and Mandarin as well other languages? What a talented bunch we are!

Miss Baillie even managed to announce the assembly in Spanish (with Mrs Gordon’s help), and there was a lovely performance in Scots by  some of the Linties Choir.

We continue to promote and celebrate all forms of diversity at Springfield and Bonnytoun and we always treat each other with kindness and love.

Miss Baillie’s Literacy Competition Assemblies…

We had two very special Literacy themed assemblies last Friday to inspire us all to become writers. Miss Baillie held an ‘Owl Babies’ story-telling session and  invited all of the children in primaries 1 to 3 to write about the Owl Babies story.

The older children talked about what Autumn in Linlithgow looks and feels like and were asked to contribute a piece of writing to our new ‘Autumn in Linlithgow’ display which features in our main corridor.

Miss Baillie stressed that everyone can learn to be a great writer and that a positive attitude towards writing is the most important thing. We learned that at every changing minute, we have the chance to change or attitudes towards anything in life, including our ability to write.

Miss Baillie has challenged all children to complete their writing within the next two weeks. There will be prizes for the best efforts! What an exciting way to kick off our efforts in writing this term!

News of the children who receive prizes will follow in the next few weeks…

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

P7b Health and Wellbeing Assembly

P7b led a fantastically informative assembly on the components of health and wellbeing last Friday. We learned more about how to stay mentally, socially, emotionally and physically healthy though a presentation and songs.  Thank you so much to all pupils, Mr Logan and Mr Slater, our lovely PGDE student,  for their hard work in putting this assembly together.  We are passionate about ensuring that every child in Springfield feels good about themselves and knows that they are worthwhile as individuals. Everyone is special and everyone is unique.

Have a lovely holiday weekend everyone,

Love Miss Baillie xxx

Goodbye and Good Luck!

We said a fond farewell to all of our amazing P7 children today and also to the following ‘Springfield Stars’ who are moving on to new schools after the summer…

Good bye and good luck to Will Cairns in P2/3,  Alexander and James Choi in P3 and Amy Finch in P6B. We will miss you all!

Have a wonderful holiday folks. Thank you so much to everyone for the amazing support this year and for all of the lovely cards and gifts that I have received today. It has been a pleasure to work with you all and to take care of your children.  Both myself, Mr Wells and our entire staff team will continue to do our very best for all of the fantastic SPS and Bonnytoun pupils as we lead the school into next session and beyond. Thank you everyone! We truly are a wonderful school!

Kind wishes,

Miss Baillie xx

Well Done Sophie!

A massive congratulations to Sophie Hemmings in P6B for winning the West Lothian Young Writer of The Year Award for her brilliant story about Marmalade the cat! We read her story out at a special assembly today and we were delighted that a child from our school could produce such outstanding work.

Keep up the excellence in Literacy Sophie!  You are a true star!
