In Maths we have been working on subtraction using the written method. We have also been learning that the different shapes have sides, corners and angles. In Big Maths we have moved onto the multiplication challenge sheets to help us improve our table knowledge. We have also been working on SumDog.
In handwriting we have been learning how to join letters to the letter “i”. We have also been trying our best to keep our work very neat and our letters on the line. We have also been working on our pencil control techniques to help us.
In Science we learned about the major organs of the human body and then created a picture of the body and named all the organs together with their functions.
In PE we have been working in pairs at different stations to improve our levels of fitness.
We had our final “Rugby taster” session at Linlithgow Rugby Club. This time we played an actual match against our classmates. On the way back we got soaked as we were caught in a heavy shower of rain!
In French we learned how to say the months of the year, the days of the week and also the names of some fruits. We also did some French maths using our knowledge of numbers up to twenty. In addition to this we have also been writing out the date in French.
In Drama we read a bit more of the story “The Animals of Farthing Wood” and then created a comic strip about what happened.
We have now started working on our new class novel entitled “The Firework Maker’s Daughter”. Lila has been captured by Pirates and we have created a “mind map” about the different characters in the story.
